Print Periodicals Move

In the next few weeks, the print periodicals are moving from their current location on the first floor near the garden to the compact shelving on the first floor where the bound periodicals are located. They will still be in Library of Congress Call number order, but now you only have to visit one place for all print issues.

Please ask at the Research Desk on the first floor if you need help finding print periodicals.

Multi-Search

What is Multi-Search?

Multi-Search is a TOTALLY NEW federated search engine the Library purchased to replace the old Central Search product.  Multi-Search allows you to simultaneously search multiple UNO Library databases.  Multi-Search will link you directly to online resources found in multiple databases and journals.  Multi-Search allows you to login to your “My Account”, create customized search groups, add items to a “session folder”, print or email “session folder” entries and do a whole lot more.

Remember though, not all UNO Library databases are included within Multi-Search.

Search Tips

Reminder

When doing in-depth research, you will get better results by searching databases directly, as direct searches within each database allow use of thesauri and filters/limiting options.

Systematic downloading of large amounts of material in a short period of time (such as all abstracts and/or full text articles from entire journal issues) is strictly prohibited by publishers. Failure by patrons to comply with this restriction may result in the loss of access by all users to a particular resource.
